And a scarey story from this afternoon.
So I'm about to leave for the day. I decide to swing by the tunnel one last time to admire some new decor I've set up. As I make my way into the packed tunnel, I see my school of silver dollar all tight and swimming fast. First thought is "Cool display of a natural behavior". A half a second later, I think "Wait, that is protection from a predator behavior". I look over to see a 24" musky chasing them!!!!!! One had jumped over from our native lake display!!! I was panicing hard core as I watching him mow down my school of dollars!!! I grabbed Nicky and ran to the top. I got into my wetsuit faster than Clark Kent whips into his Superman outfit, grabbed a net and hit the water. Too about four minutes to catch the thing! Glad I saw it when I did. Can you imagine coming in Sunday moring to see a fat musky and no Amazon fish anymore only a week prior to the big opening day!!!
Anyway, everyone enjoys pics. So enjoy these: You can really see how much more armor the
Megaladoras irwini has compared to the
Pseudodoras niger when you can see the two side by side. A special thanks to fellow MFKer Ivan for selling us the niger cat! It looks great on display (as you can see).
