you may have answered this before, but i was wondering where do you get the fish to stock that tank? You got some monsters in there, are they all imported?
Some of the fish are from our previous Amazon display.
Some are imported. I try to buy captive breed animals as much as possible, but most good farms are in South America, but some are wild caught. I did buy from some farms in the US. Some of the fish are from other zoos/aquariums in the US (All of the pacu from other facilities are fish that people bought for their home tank and they out grew it). The arapaima and the niger cat are from a MFK member in Florida that we went down to pick up personally. I also have stingrays coming from my old breeding programs at another facility - I'm happy to see my offspring coming back to me.
As of last night, we have 59 species in the tank (22 cichlids, 16 charicins, 5 catfish,10 plecos, 6 'other'. We have just shy of 1,000 total animals. By the time Summer rolls around, we will have over 75 species and 1,500-1,700 fish in there.
man the tank is really coming along........the 9th is only two days away.....bet you can't wait for it to open.......is the pima in there yet? if so can we get more pics pleeeeeeaseeeee .............

Nice! I have always wondered what the top view of the tanks looked like. I have gone their so much that I have always been curious of how the whole thing works.
