Thanks! And yeah that would probably work just as well, would like something bigger myself but found this on CL for super cheap so will expand in the future.
Teflon tape is fine in my experience on PVC to PVC pipe. You want to wrap it around enough so you cant even see the threads, then use a wrench. Ive never had a issue.
