Have a 200 gallon tank in the basement, and I know my basement is humid an needs a dehumidifier... But now that fall is here haven't got the dehumidifier yet the basement still smells. My wife swears it smells "fishy", do you guys just think its the humidity or the aquairum could be stinking up the joint? Because its not humid now that fall is here an stinks still..
Any input would be appreciated ..

I have a 225 gallon in my basement and I can't smell a thing. If you are running marine they will have a "beachy" smell to them. but only when you open them up and are close to them.
either something isn't right with your tank chemistry or the smell is coming from somewhere else

I'm running fresh water... An my water conditions are good an I do bi weekly water changes... Only think I can think of really is I use hikari carnisticks an massivore wich stinks but I seal the bag right up after I feed an there's never left over food in tank. Maybe it's just the humidity in the basement??? But I figured its no humid out now so why would it smell

yeah I've had a tiny tetra jump out of a tank before and stink up the house for a day until I found it. I have no clue about the humidity though because its usually below 30% here so always pretty dry.

You sure you didn't have a fish jump out and die hidden from view? That could certainly cause some smell.

Yea I'm sure I don't use feeders an I count all my fish everyday.. Check all of them out for cuts fins I inspect all my fish daily... I have 2 arowanas 8 pbass
