DC 1200, its a dow corning product to be used as a primer for the DC 732Davey_8313;2133360; said:I've got the dow corning 732, but what kind of primer are you talking about?
Alright, thanks man. And you use it like paint primer and spray it on before caulking?IITUFFTOBEATII;2133766; said:DC 1200, its a dow corning product to be used as a primer for the DC 732
Look back on the thread (#73) and you will see the process. You dont need to spray it. We wiped it onto the glass with the tip of a clean rag. You can also brush it on. We also put it on the receiving edge in the tank.Davey_8313;2133875; said:Alright, thanks man. And you use it like paint primer and spray it on before caulking?
Thanks, man. Tank should be here Tuesday, can't wait.Buckdog;2135272; said:Look back on the thread (#73) and you will see the process. You dont need to spray it. We wiped it onto the glass with the tip of a clean rag. You can also brush it on. We also put it on the receiving edge in the tank.
I would recommend putting a small amount in a glass container or can. Then cap the original container tightly. Saturate the tip of your cloth and wipe it on. Let it dry for about 15 min before siliconing.
And as always-use gloves and a respirator.
Ive never done one in the frame like that but I can't see why it wouldn't work - as long as your glass is really clean.mikeandannie;2135447; said:so if i am resealing a 195 glass tank without taking it out of the frame do u suggest the dc 1200 primer for a reseal, and then the dc 732 silicone, i am under assumption you can get both of them in clear applications?
Excellent. Good luck and have fun. Keep us posted...pics too if you can.Davey_8313;2140496; said:Thanks, man. Tank should be here Tuesday, can't wait.
I read that through Europe the Wacker Elastosil is supposed to be top notch. I think Dow has a line of brands also.bigcol;2549257; said:so which of these sylicone types would i find in the uk, preferably up north, i really need some of the best there is
