Spangled perch would probably be a cheaper way to get the scats attention. Though you would think other scats would be more ideal.

I went home last night to find him picking on the perch again, I showed him the net and he went and hid under the driftwood straight away! lol

I will see how he goes, it might take some time but it seems like he's learning.
