i just bought a sooty grunter on the weekend
its very small, like 3-4 cm, and i haven't seen it since putting it in the pond. i hope its alright.also at my lfs they had a breeding pair of sleepy cod for $100. im thinking about buying them, but they are quite big and might eat my new sooty grunter! they were even labled 'will eat anything that fits in their mouths'!

Yeah you might not see the sooty for a bit, atleast until he gets some size on him.
And the Sleepy Cod's sound good.
im still undecided about the sleepy cod, as they may eat half of the fish in the pond. and i bought 2 juvenile koi yesterday, and i didn't realise how small they were until i got home. im worried a goldfish might eat them, let alone a 30cm sleepy cod!
and i saw the sooty grunter today!!!only briefly, i was feeding the fish some sinking crumbles and it came from under a rock and grabbed a crumble, then went back under the rock. its funny becuase the rock is directly under where i let him out of the bag!
