BAKKI style pond filter

I don't think this has been mentioned before in this thread but has anyone seen the price for the proper BHM your supposed to use in this type of filter. Yikes, and I thought K1 was expensive but at least you get a big bag for your money not a tiny little box

I think the design of the shower, is more responsible than the Media used. otherwise we would have heard of the Media long before the "Showers"
There are alot of reasons for lower nitrates in this system, besides w/c I think it has to do with the large amounts of air that accompany the water through the media

It is located outside so if anything it is absorbing a bit of the Ambient heat...
I asked because I know a lot of pond folks shut their TT / Bakki filters down during the winter months due to super cooling the water. I know you're in a warmer climate so you're probably ok.zennzzo;2382291; said:
