Bacteria house media...pricier than gold, no doubt....Some of the claims are a bit far fetched, that's why mine is filled with Scrubbies and Jap Mat...

I think the design of the shower, is more responsible than the Media used. otherwise we would have heard of the Media long before the "Showers"

There are alot of reasons for lower nitrates in this system, besides w/c I think it has to do with the large amounts of air that accompany the water through the media
FAR infrared emitted rays, was something that seemed to come up a lot when I was reading about this media

I was wondering about the claims that "no other media will work" in this set up....wtf is all that malarky.

personally I have never even seen Media house media, tall claims and too expensive for me. I have seen a SCRUBBIE or thousands, and I do know what they can do. So the only logical thing to do was try it and, well, they seem to be working very well ~1B

I'm seriously tempted to try it when I build my shower at some point later this year, but at £140 for 10kg it's real off putting. I mean surely it can't be that good or cost that much to make, how much can it cost to heat something up?

Maybe it is that good but know one really knows as it's too expensive for most people.

every object emits infrared rays based on its temperature..........that is how infrared thermometers work

so what ??? its not much of a claim as the temperature is controlled by the water temperature and all media will emit IR radiation.

the traditional way to remove nitrates is thru anoxic conditions and anoxic carbon eating bacteria

the big mystery here is why the bakki shower reduces nitrates at all :confused::confused:

Thanks for the input John.

Every big shower system I've seen the fish are always under the output of these.

I just love this thing zennzzo. Great build. How is it going? Still have it or changed it up.

Almost makes me want to play with my filters again.
