I'll trade you a good contact with Frank Gehry's office for your calcs. :naughty:

Interesting......

I dont think that you really do need to do design calcs but i can try to solve any problems you run into.

I would just build it like it was a retaining wall.

Oh and about those calcs, those values are soooooo small they seem insignificant compared to what im used to working with.

Im building the frame for my tank out of 1/2" by 1/2" ASTM A36 steel, with a wall thickness around 0.125" and my axial capacity is close to 30000 lbs........

You know, I was playing road roulet the other day and I came across this farm supply place. They had MASSIVE tanks stainless steel tanks. My mind started wandering....

I know about the scale thing. I'm building a model of a building right now that's 236'x75'x5 stories and it's only sitting on 28 columns. It's amazing how little structure is in builidings anymore. rough rendering below.

Concrete also expands and contracts due to temperature this is the only thing that would worry me considering u are coating it with a material that may or may not flex any and the front seal around that window might be at risk from it.

you're thinking, but, for one, it's inside and kept at a constant temperature. second, look at sanitred's website here: http://www.sanitred.com/ It's basically a latex membrane. They have a 100% lifetime guarentee that it won't fail. They also sent me step by step instructions on how to build and seal a tank just like this. This stuff is amazing. They have some literature that shows 2 pieces of concrete bonded with about a 1 inch thick piece of their lrb mixture and they're bending it in half, the flex isn't an issue. I'll post them here. It's advertising for them right?

Ya I don't think it will be a major issue because its inside and the temperature will always be pretty close to the same. Just wanted to pass that along just incase u hadn't thought about it but it seems u have done ur homework on the material thats coating it looks like some good stuff.
