I missed your interlocking corners; although I like the holes in the pad for the vertical rebar the best ( and the masic internal coating). Looks Good !
Overengineering might be stainless rebar so you could switch to salt water at some time.
Nothing personal , but as an engineer, I have never been impressed by the mechanical abilities of architects. One super architect screw-up I was familiar with was the replacement of the marble skin of the Standard Oil Bldg in Chicago . It cost more than the original building.
I wouldn't mention using A36 steel as it is the lowest common denominator for structural and plate; It would be difficult to find a piece of mild steel that did not meet the requirements of A36.

LOL. TRUST me, I know about the architect thing. I'm not one. I'm an illustrator, and I have to constantly deal with trying to make terrible buildings look good. When I did do design work, I was basically the guy that tried to figure out the nuts and bolts of the building that the architects designed. One thing, people outside the architecture business and outside of architecture specifically aren't aware of or don't consider is the amazing amount of work that goes into the architectural end of the building's life. It is impossible with today's budgets and timelines to find ever error and every flaw in a design. You have to just go as far as you can in the time alotted. One more important thing (then I'll shut up about architecture) is that we're at the mercy of the client!!!!! Sometimes you just have to do what the client want's even when you know it's bad, or too expensive or the wrong application of a product.

Anyway, thanks for your input! I can't think of every possible failure on this tank, so the more people look at it and make suggestions, the better off I'll be.

I like the rebar thought a lot. I've thought about SW several times.

cant wait to see some monsters in there what are u gonna stock it with
I know there'll be at least one oscar;) I think I've given up on the discus thought. Anyone else have any good ideas on what would go with 5 silver arowana for a SA comm?

I didn't mean to sound so critical of architects; I just mean they are not structural engineers. I contracted an architect to design my house for me 10 yr ago ; He did a great job. And for a couple beams in the garage he drew in " Beam to be designed by engineer". He didn't take a guess at them.

I'm sure I could up the amount of rebar, use 2 layers of concrete block and cover the entire structure in carbon fiber too, but I don't see the point.
I dunno man, carbon fiber woul dbe pretty bad ass!

Any updated drawings/pics? Decide on how your going to filter this thing yet?
Nothing yet. It'll be filtered by a 100gal overhead wet/dry. I'm sure someone would suggest a bigger filter, but I disagree.

LOL. Carbon fiber, kevlar and a 4foot thick bulletproof window.

Funniest thing is, a kiddy pool will work :D

If I said; It's going to be 10' around and 2.5' high and made out of saranwrap, people would have a cow. Yet there are photos on this forum of a kiddy pool with arowanas in it.
