The female wallago leerii looking at the containers of mackerel fish being prepared for feeding.
She is very smart and actually can identify herring from the trays I thaw them out on before I feed the tank and actually have no part of them unless she is very hungry. She loves mackerel however and it gets her to the front for James Martin to take pictures in this case.
The Arapaima like herring as much as mackerel so its an easy feed day for them on those occasions.
That is the Arapaima Nemesis's mouth at the top of the picture. And below the female Wallago you can see the male Wallago leerii swimming probably about 6 to 8 feet in the background.
