looks good man! those guys are loving the room!

I hope you conditioned the water before you put those guys in (unless you're on pond water) and you're running an established filter for them. With it only partially full there's not a lot of water to dilute their waste...

The water that went in came from the paddling pool where the rest of the fish still are so no problems with water conditioning there. Just 2 6" channel cats been moved over so far to make sure everything goes ok. As for filtration it's just a 700ltr per hour fountain pump flowing through a box full of pond weed for now. sems to be doing the job. will drop an eheim in there once it's a little deeper.

hello bud , i not been on here for a while , been very busy with work etc , this is looking great , just read through it so far ,, sorry about the ones that died when moved to the paddling pool , anyway bud , will prob give you a call and pop over for a loowk at your new pool if thats ok ,
i am giving my glass tank another winter in the garage before i decide to build the pond , this year is really testing the heating required , at the moment i can keep a steady 24 degrees c on 1000 litres in a single wall garage when outside is -4 with 2 x 300 watt heaters ,
my dats are getting a good size now and i wish i had bought more ,,,, i find it hard to find bigger sizes to add to my collection so am thinking of selling them off and buying a big batch of about 40 small ones to grow again , that should be enough ,,
sooooo, will speak soon i hopes ,
jason

I wish you the best of luck but I dont think you have any chance at all of those tarps not leaking. I use those things often and they are great at keeping water off of stuff when the water can sheet off of them.....but as far as holding water, not so good!

i do have to agree i tried to build a tank useing a tarp it last for a couple of weeks then it started to leak. but maby your using a different tarp good luck subscribed

Good to hear from you again, feel free to come over for a visit when it's all done, house will be tidier then! Best thing for keeping heat in i found was lots of insulation before trying to heat the water, helps keep the temperature up. how well can you insulate your garage?

Thanks for the heads up guys. That's why i'm going to run it for a week or so as it is with a few inches in to see if anything happens. They do seem fairly thick and had a good water repelent coating on them and seen similar before but only outdoors.

The fall back plan is take out the top 2 tarps and put a proper liner in then the tarps back over the top again so might just go ahead and do that for peace of mind.
