Not enough space on the floor to lay it out how it's going to go together so will have to cut a bit at a time and won't know how it'll look until it's all fitted together on top of the pond. No pressure on getting it right!

Time to strip the old cover off then somehow.
sounds gud huni but less typing mre cutting i want 2 paint at the weekend whilst ur in work and im boredSatan's Goldfish;4087349; said:Temporary lid removed and folded back. Lighting removed and put to one side. Wood sat on top; the 4 lengths running from front to back are already the right length but all the rest of it needs sizing. Unsure whether to run the filter pipes neatly across the top or just leave them sitting underwater in the pond. Slots will be cut where timbers cross so it's all at the same level rather than sat on top of each other (as i've mocked it up for now) and will be done at the back as well as the front. The back left hand corner will have a piece at 45 degrees (as i've shown at the front for visual purposes only) going from the the side to the back of the pond and this will help support the bio filter box so it and the bricks can come out of that end. Lighting when it's done will be 4 4ft tubes, one tube fitted to each side of the center 2 front to back lengths. The tarp and liner will be held underneath the lengths running along the back and front and along the sides, and the tarp will be pinned upwards on the outside of these lengths from the pond so any splashes will run back down towards the pond rather than onto the floor (Bam Bam). Temporary lid put back over for now but all lighting removed until proper lid done. Couple of shots looking down on the fish (it's a little disconserting looking at it full without a lid!)
I need to get the work bench back out to start cutting notches in the front to backs before i can start measuring the cuts on the rest of it and that's going to involve tidying the garage first so i'll do that at the weekend (sorry huni). I think the angled cuts for the filter support are going to be the biggest pig on this but at least that's the last bit to do. Everything needs cutting and test fitting before taking apart again for the blue wood treatment to be applied.
Once the wood's treated and it's fitted back together and screwed on top of the pond, the white cladding along the top of the front can be completed. I then need to find a 10ft long piece of something to be a suitable bar top to do the whole length at the front and get the clear plastic roofing for the back. Bar and roofing will just lift off to allow easy access to filters and lighting and for feeding.
So that's the plan, hope it makes sense.
Yes dear, right away dear......Damn it's dark out now, going to have to wait.MRS SATAN;4087853; said:
