Cheap plants, less nitrate! POTHOS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I just threw them in because I was so excited to haha but I have A LOT around the house. As you can see I also made my own container for the pothos so I have to pick up some real containers for them haha but I definitely plan to crowd my sump with them

Such a great thread. I now have 3 pothos plants. One in the tank, one in a pot and the other in a hanging basket. I took a dying leaf out with near dead root and put it in my emp 400 filter with the leaf hanging out and its growing more stems

Sweet! You technically don't even need a container, easy and free way is to take a old tupperware container, cut a few holes in it and that works.

So the plant's roots could go straight into the tank and the rest could float on the water or would the leaves have to be outside the tank?

Ideally some of the leaves would need to be above the surface but your sump water level is lower so I'm saying you could prlly just stick them in and they'll grow out, but if you have a container or basket then just go for that :)
