I have a little more fish than a couple in my tank that is evident. But shows also that my Bio is working Well and the filter is converting everything over easy. I don't really think anything other than water changes can help it. If I am wrong though please tell. And filling the top 10x4 area with Pothos is not really an option. But I'll look into it for you just as some fun. Putting some plants in the display tank.

Id say 2-4 healthy plants will make a good dent in those levels, mine were consistently 60ish and now 30max, and that's with 1 healthy plant, plus with spikes like that the plant will flourish even more and help purify the air in your house!

Love that setup!

Humm I have I think 6 healthy plants at least night now.growing . Lol, I'm ready to take starts from them and grow more plants. I have 3 plants in my 120 upstairs.

Well guess depends what you mean by a plant. In this tank I took a really large potted plant and broke it up into all it's actual plant shoots and here they are. Each one is it's own plant. I would like to build a large container that I could grow plants in which I might work on. I need a new project to try now that the plants are large enough to split into many plants. Just not sure if it's really doing much but you all think it is so I might be the only crazy one here. Lol

Tried it on the 220 where they're housed temporarily while waiting to finish work on the 280. All the carnivores are going to the 280 when done. The rest will stay in the 220. It was easy cleaning the roots of soil.

Cut a slot on the fridge tray and inserted the plant basket from HD.

Sorry, its already night time but you can see it on the right side of the tank. There's also clipings on the 55 growout.

I wanted to expose the roots but the others might nibble on it especially the giant gourami. I will get more plants once I finished the 280.

Thanks for the kind words F1! I forgot to snip the roots as you mentioned earlier in the thread, too excited to remember I guess lol. I'll do that, there are no pebbles in the basket so it should be fairly easy to do. Since there are no aggression issues, I'm taking my time on the 280. Checking out threads here to get some ideas for a new look. I think the pothos will benefit from an hour of sunlight everyday.

My tank just happened to sit in the garage where it gets natural sunlight. But as the OP and the others have mentioned, pothos are very hardy plants and will thrive even in low light conditions. Good luck on your project.

Yeah, this would get indirect sunlight for most of the afternoon so it should be good. Thanks!

Some have experienced 10-20% more growth with added light, however too much light can be bad, see what it does for the first month on ambient, I'm sure you'll be happy!

Sorry I didn't get to your question sooner, and thanks to the other members for helping!
