Cheap plants, less nitrate! POTHOS

I find that some of my smaller geos like to try and hide in the roots. Eventually i"ll probably trim the roots back a bit. I like that idea of having them in a tub above the tank or off to the side. Ive got some thinking to do :)

Yeah that was my plan just a power head and a hole in the opposite side. I am gonna have a Stand flush with my tank rim behind it where my DIY filter is going so it will work out good. Throw some ceramic rings with the plants and added bio as well it's a win win.

Great Idea! i'm going to try this in my bowfront. It might be a little harder to find something to keep the basket floating.

They have floating pond planters at your lhs.

I think I'm also going to give this a shot but I'm unsure how I'm going to execute it.

I have a canopy so I'm wondering if I can just throw them in the tank & let them float around or plant them in a HOB.

The roots need to be in the water, its not a fully submersible aquatic plant like Amazon swords or Anubis. Placing them in your hob is a very popular method!

Ok, I'll have to try this next month when i have more cash as I don't own any HOB's as I'm running two canisters. But I welcome the extra flow from a HOB.

Try a soap holder from Walmart with suction cups or just airline tube suction cups. Good part is pothos fit virtually any tank or or setup, reptiles/herps/fish etc

Update time. All these pothos came from one little clone that I posted previously. After a few months of them growing in flower pots. I got some nice vines. Nice doomidee!
I took took some cuts off mine for my 30g. Just starting to root. So they're not much to look at. The plants in my 225g are huge now.
