love those heckelii i just got 3 ov em awesome fish

Alright, as per the disclaimer in the very first post, I've been pretty much useless at keeping this up to date. So sue me....

Things have changed a little, but I think I finally have a grand plan finalised! Its not just going to be two tanks as per the original idea, mainly due to me getting my hands on some A. festae this week (Friday hopefully), they haven't been available here for ~15 years so I'm pretty stoked and will be doing my best to breed them and help get them established in the hobby here. I've also decided to set up a "community" tank for some smaller fish, mainly catfish and dwarf cichlids. Pics below.

So here's the plan;

150x70x60cm (currently housing the loaches and cichlids) will have the pair of festae I hope to get out of the 6-8 juvis I'm getting

120x50x50 will be the growout for the festae until the 5' is empty, then will be used for raising fry.

180x75x60 will house the green aro, 2 dats, ornate and a big male festae.

All the loaches and cichlids (geos, uaru, acara, heckelii, rotkeil) and a few nice plecos will be going into a new tank of as yet undetermined size. At the very least it will be anlther 210g (180x75x60), and might be up to 8'x30"x26", or somewhere in between. I realise that even the largest of those tanks probably isn't big enough for 30 clowns and around 18 cichlids that get to 20-30cm so there may have to be some culling as they all grow, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Just so this post isn't just a load of waffle that isn't really that interesting, here's a few pics of the 3'x18x18" semi-planted small-fish tank. Its only been set up [in this incarnation] for about a week...

Nice, more tanks are always good! Keep up the good work David.

I love your setups. They are really clean and it is comfortable to look at. Keep up the good work man.

Thanks all. I should try to take a few more photos, its hard at the moment though as its still light outside when the lights go off, plus I'm usually either at work doing late shift or in bed for an early shift when its dark enough outside to take pics.

whoa, what kinda apisto that? never seen one of those before.
They come into the country as A. borelli, but they aren't. Closest thing to a name we have for them is Apistogramma sp. 'Steel Blue'.
