Thanks! Sorry I've been a bit slack in updating this, but there hasn't been much to report. About a month ago I went away for two weeks of simulator training for a new job, and the loaches got whitespot while I was gone. Luckily my partner spotted it early and was able to treat it while I was gone, and we got rid of it with out any losses. The tonic did stain the substrate blue though, I siphoned it out yesterday and replaced it with more of the same.
There has been a slight change of plan, yesterday I went to the shop to get some carbon, and came home with three Nandus nandus! First time they've been available here, AFAIK they've only just been added to the list of allowable imports. I'm struggling to get them to eat (as posted here, all suggestions welcome) and I'll be setting them up in my 40g (3'x18x18") with some plants and some as-yet undecided tank mates (more suggestions welcome).
