Diy 330 gallon project

Using hose so I can have less issues connecting my pump under the stand not much room for my hands so I will install the hose on the pump slide it under then connect to to the pvc on the ball valve

Looks great making progress. I finished my plumbing on the 320 over the weekend and got it running and now cycling. Had a few kinks to work out, the fluidized barrel took some fine tuning. What air pump you running on yours?

I'm running a tetra pond air pump with 2, 2" stones siliconed in place on the bottom opposite sides of each other also have 2 drains opposite of those so it's kinda making a cross almost so I should be turning fine I hope. Plus my fluidized bed needs to cycle anyways once they get a good bacteria built up they turn better from what I've seen so.

what size is the pump, I siliconed a 5" stone at the bottom but it didnt do much. I have a AP60 I tried several things and wound up running a 3/4" hose to the bottom of the barrel with the 14 output diffuser with a brick zip tied to it and I finially got boil

Here's the bottom of the barrel I'm putting my kaldnes in once it's dry and my hoses are connected. I'm using a tetra apk100 pond pump for mine should do what I need fine

Do you already have the pump? Did it come with a diffuser? What kind of output does the pump offer, mine has 14 outputs so running a few air stones did not do much, what is the outlet size of the air pump. I found this part to be tough and tried a few methods, finially got it where I like it so if I can help in any way be glad to

Mine only has 2 outputs and does allow for 2 separate stones to be run off different positions it also came with 2 check valves and 2 deffusers one for each tube also came with 30 feet of hose pretty good deal in my opinion

gotcha good luck hope it works out, i dont know much about air pumps so I was suprised mine had 14 outputs, the 5" stone didnt do anything. Also fill it with water first and get it to boil then add the media, I put the media in first and could not get a good boil. I only have half the media in now as it takes time for it to get bacteria and gain the weight to sink

Yeah I have heard that you won't get positive boyency until the media has actively gained bacteria once being used otherwise it won't turn like it should for a lil while tell it's older and active bacteria is able to attach to it

Finally got my 330 gallon up and running! Put my 10" Dat in it the other day! I think he thinks I put him in the ocean cause he's swimming around like it looks like he loves itI'll post more pic as I takeep them of the system as I finish the rest of it
