What about the depth of the sugar and yeast at the bottom of the jug?

I get what your saying about the pressure. Maybe a 1 gallon gatorade jug like I have. It works great.

Pressure depth cannot have an effect in our situation.

You need a little over 24 inches of depth before you even see a 1 psi increase

so 1 psi creates 24" of water colum - 24" w.c. Ok I would say that's correct but I don't think these can make too much psi. I think a wine bottle would be sweet because I can have the air tube 3" away from the mix but have less wasted space cause it is not as "wide" a container. I would akso agree a milk jug wuld have too much give to it, it is very soft plastic. That's why I lie the juice bottle it seems to be a little more ridgid than a soda bottle.

I wil be posting some new pics in an hour here I just set up a 2nd bottle with wine yeast & nutrients in a 1.4 liter bottle. I m gonna ,ove to 2 1.4 liter bottles I think. Or I have also thoufht about a 1gal gatoraid bottle but I kinda like the 2 bottle setup!

I don't mean the water pressure in the bottle by depth. I mean the pile of alcoholic yeast sludge. The bubbles come from that. I it was spread over a larger footprint.... Idk just thinkin.

Looks like you need a proper hood for your ten gallon. I would want to trade your light on it now for a full hood and light from my ten. Too bad you live too far away.

that 10g was hodge podge of spare parts, that filter is from m 36g & so is the light. I m thinking a DIY light, 2 T5's from homedropt are cheap.
that light is 30" wide but only a 18watt T8 so it was weak on the 36 but just about right for that 10, I have also thought about cutting down the ends there is about 3" on each side that have nothing in it. If I did that it would overhang about 2" on each side not 5" it is now.
