I read it cross-eyed (almost at 1am). I missed the part about the problem being in the return line. It was an easy fix and I thought it was more complicated than that. :nilly:

ok im going to try this on a 55g with a 10g as the filter,100 to 200gph pump.
few questions i cant figure.
the u inside the tank,does that go to the bottom of the tank?
and the inlet? in the tank,how high from the bottom do i go?where i want my water line?

The u bends don't have to go to the bottom.Just make sure they are lower than the T piece that goes to your sump.I have mine going to the bottom ,IMO it has better flow that way.
Make the inlets just a tad lower than where you wan't your water level.
