Fancy Goldfish Pictures

Thanks...

Just so hard to leave those fat little beauties in the LFS ....

But a 125 w/live plants and a shoal of Fan Tails will have to be a X-Mas gift down the road.

It's a shame I lost Puff and Bubbles to a bichir that I forgot existed in the pond for two years. I only remembered I put her in the pond in 2007 when I saw her while combing the bottom of the pond hoping to find my pearlscales.:(

Anyway, here are my newest additions, Julian and Summers.

Summers at the back. Moby shows himself in the picture for the first time I think. He's the red/white oranda in front.

Julian tried to dash to the back as I attempted to get his pic.

I removed the substrate to keep maintenance easier for me. Will add some decorative vases I think and then plants.

My new black ranchu, Loco. I wanted to add a panda moor but after 30 minutes of inspecting every goldfish, my head was about to burst and I decided not to get more instead due to indecisiveness. Will get more in time though. Loco is all by himself until he's a bit big enough to outcompete other goldies for food. I think he may be eating some of my baby mystery snails. Ugh! I may have to transfer him again if this persists.

I have a comet and a shubunkin but as they're in the pond, it's tricky to get good photos. They're sexually matured already and measure 6 inches.

My first post here on MFK. I love looking at goldfish pictures so I thought I'd share mine along with everyone elses. These are some of my past goldies:

If you haven't noticed I'm in love with oranda!! I only just recently branched off and started caring for a ranchu and lionhead. I'll have to find some recent pictures of my 3 current goldies in my 75g.

Here's my 3 Goldfish (actually my 12 yr old's but I take care of them). The one plain Goldfish keeps changing color every 9-12 months. He was originally dark brown, then a platinum color, then this pretty bright yellow. Now he's started changing to white. He can't make up his mind. We rescued him from a pond when he was the size of my smallest fingernail.

The one looks like a huge dalmation mollie lol...Nice fish!!

Abby - Welcome, beautiful pics!

Nice goldies everyone!
I used to have a HUGE ranchu and two 4'' Ryukin.

Planning to get two ryukins soon.
Theyre my favorite.

:welcome: to MFK, Abby!

You have such gorgeous goldfish! Yes indeed. I noticed all your current photos show you are into orandas. I especially love the blue oranda. Perhaps she can get together with Summers sometime.:D Summers is my grumpy black oranda who is currently 6 inches in length and quite bulky as well. I hope to see your lionhead and ranchu as well. I have both as you've seen in Julian and Loco respectively.

Hope to hear more from you, Abby.

He's simply stunning, Vil! What do you feed him? High protein based diet helps accelerate wen growth. I suggest including vegetable matter in his diet as well. Try to make homemade gel foods or buy Mazuri 5M70 gel food brand and then Hikari Lionhead or Hikari Oranda Gold. I prefer Hikari Lionhead as it is sinking. Those Hikari brands can be used for orandas, crown pearlscales, lionchus, ranchus and lionheads but I also feed them to my other goldies with no wen growth development and it should work just fine.
