Hey if you are interested, i have a very healthy longnose gar i would consider donating if you are interested. Hes about 20'' long and somewhere around 3 years old which is the adulthood of the species. He is pretty tame and loves small goldfish. Well let me know

Great to see you've got that beast of a tank back online!

Well, my other fish are all in vancouver with the rest of my family. I have a couple of 15" plecos, a 22" aro, and a 10" oscar, but I don't know how safe the aro will be with this guy. He WAS in a tank with some oscars before, but he also could barely move in that tank, so who knows. I'd hate to see my pretty silver aro hanging out of this guy's mouth. There certainly is lots of room in there - there is another TSN larger than this one (only a couple inchs longer, but much thicker) about 5 hours drive from me, in a pet store. If they will give him to me for a steal I might pick him up too.

Man - how do you live without your babies???
Hope they offer a good price on the TSN.

The move has been hard on everyone. We're hoping to get the rest of the family up here in the frigid north soon, but there are some legal things to sort out. Wife, 3 kids, 2 cats, and all the fish are a 14 hour drive away. Stressful to say the least. I had to fight some fin rot over christmas due to lack of water changes. Sucks!

That does suck!
There is a lot to be said for automatic water changers.

When I focus on the tank, the fish looks tiny. When I focus on the fish, the tank looks HUGE! Great job, I love the all glass corner. You've given me a lot of hope for a similar project one day.

Norbert appears to be enjoying his new home. Tonight is the first evening I've taken off working out since christmas (no it's not a resolution, but I HAVE had to wade through all the new years crowd at the gym.) Anyway I managed to install a 500w halogen light over the tank. The lid is still a tarp, which is just dandy for keeping evap down, but I need to do something better. I peeled the tarp back for the photos to let the light in. With the tank he doesn't seem quite as leery of the light as he was in the tub.
