10mm is fine up to 24inches and your saftey rating is still high, 12mm is overkill and a waste of money IMO.
4x2x2 tanks are all made in 10mm as standard.

I was looking at a couple of products here in the US, Pond Coat and Rubber Coat. Both made by PermaDri (sister company of the one you used), but in talking to the product manager, he suggested I go with Rubber Coat. Cost of one gallon shipped to me in Dallas area was $65.
http://www.permadri.com/pond-coat.html is made for ponds and is fish safe .. so it also might be a good choice

I had a talk with the sister company to the stuff you are using (here in the US its called Pond Coat by Permadri) and the guy said silicone WILL NOT stick to this material and something else needs to be used to seal the glass to the frame ... any other ideas .. other then using the coating its self.??

Hey folks, for anyone else in the UK i found this Liquid Rubber stuff for £49 a gallon (imperial, naturally) delivered.

http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Main/s...iquid%20rubber

Its made by Ronseal so i don't know if maybe b&q do their own brand
Ive just heard back from a sales rep here in scotland(after a week or so)
and hes gave me a price of £78.83 for 5lt and £300 for 20lt, but he couldnt give me a timescale for how long it would take if i order it.

No worries about adhesion with the Canadian product. Joey has already tested with success. Great job Joey.

I will use GE I silicone to seal the glass to the rubber. I tryed to rip of the silicone with my hands today and couldnt get a grip on it to get it off. i used plyers and i ripped it off. When i ripped it off the silione came off with the layer of rubber and some of the wood came up too. so it looks like GE silicone I bonds very well to zavlar.

MY 4x2x2 is 12mm glass.

10mm will be OK, but if you're keeping large fish, or have rambunctious kids or something, I'd use 12mm just for peace of mind.
