FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

yeah they have a fish lift, alot of people fish for them and shad as they get held up there trying to make their way into the lift. Fishing right at the dam is ****ty, you lose soo much tackle. They blasted a few years back and you get snagged alot.

I dont know if you have ever heard of the octorara dam, but the shad come up these small streams and get stuck at the dam becuase there is no lift. Last year i stuck my hand in the water and just picked one up. I came back about a month later, and all of teh big ones were laying their dead

Thats cause once they spawn(5 yrs old) they die!!!

One of my favorite lakes "Rosedale lake" has a stream running into it and every year the shad(huge) swim up the stream and spawn in it. One day u go there and its 100's of them in packs all along the shoreline. A week or so later u go back and they are all dead along the shoreline. Its kinda sad but I think thats the reason why the LMB get so big there, plus they drop 1800 trout in it also. I caught my biggest bass of my life from this very lake. It was 7.4lbs!!!

IDk about that one. Usually when u catch a striper there is a current involved plus if LMB got that big COULD U IMAGAINE!!

Smallmouth pound for pound is the hardest fighting FW fish!!!

You think lb per lb they fight harder tham same size sunfish?

I find big suns some good fighters.

Those are some nice fish, where in florida did you go, fishing ponds in neighborhoods are always the best, thats where i do most my fishing, the best spots are the ones youre not allowed to fish lol.

lol the local mail carrier goes fishing close to every day while on his route and has amazing pics from those Golf courses and not to be morbid but even cemetery ponds, lakes.

The fish are good size and they hit right away and keep on hitting.

Sun fish, mayan cichlids, oscars and tilapia fight like beasts. The thing is is they don't get that large so its hard to say, I've caught some 4-5lb smallmouth up north that fight as hard possibly harder than them but thats being twice the size. So lb for lb, alhtough great fighters, I wouldn't say they're the best. It's a shame but LMBs just dont have the fighting force of other fish. ALthough they are master acrobats and can figure ways to fly up and spit your lure lol. I use 2 lb test on my symetre 500 and have the drag loose so i can get a fight out of them, but until you get 14 inches or over lmbs can be ripped out of the water.

ever try handfishing for any type of fish? I tried it with bluegills, and if you dont give them line when they want or try to muscle them in they will cut you with the line. I also a caught a bass on hand line not as much fun, more cinematics than real fight

Sunnies put up a excellent fight, is probaly cause the shape of them. I seen a 2lb bluegill while on vacation in VA. The bait shop attendent said the guy who brought it in said it take like 5 minutes to get it in!!

I think that also that lb per lb the cichlids fight the hardest with surprisingly PeacokBass fighting lb per lb the worse of the lot.

I went today caught few small Jags but only 3 in 2 hours in a place which was at one time loaded with them .
Catch and release ofcourse.
