FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

Well I'm back from NJ with little to report/brag about, it would seem that everytime I'm in south Jersey the Bass aren't in the mood or I just don't get there in time.

Terry's given me some good spots to try and while I did get a Bass or two both in my book are what I call beginner Bass or what JerseyJAck calls bait. So far I've fished the south Jersey area near Princeton 4 times and roughly on 5 bodies of water and I've caught 4 Bass, the largest of which I believe was 2.7lbs to 2.9lbs,. I also caught a big Bullfrog with my 10 yr old nephew who didn't believe that frogs eat anything that moves including rubber frogs. Pictures to follow shortly left camera in Jersey. But alot of the reason that I didn't catch much this time was do to the time spent teaching my nephew to fish.

For me this is just a bit of practice for the days to comes, in eight more days I'll be headed back to Florida for some more big Bass Fishing!
:nilly:

Dennis and I started the day at "Farrington" at 7:15. The bite was real slow all day but I would pluck a few out of the lillys on the dinger fishing it like a snake on top.

Slow day but atleast got a few 2 pounders!!

Fish lnaded-2

Had alittle time before church so I pulled over at the D&R canel(whitehead rd). The water was murky and the current was strong and in my experience thats NOT a good thing for flowing water. I lasted 30 minutes before I left and went right up the street to "Colonial lake".
I banged two small bass fishing parallel with the buzzy!!

For a quick stop it wasnt that bad!!

Fish landed-I-3/Dennis-1

Today I did something that I NEVER do, and thats go saltwater fishing!!

A freind of Dennis has a very nice 25ft boat. We left out of Point Pleasent,NJ and the plan was to find the stripers. Jim(the captain) did just that by hooking the first fish of the day and passing the rod to Dennis. The fish came in at 34"s which is 4"s bigger then they need to be to keep! Shortly after Dennis had another one on but it got off. I was tired and not really feeling it. After some time I got with it and landed a very nice Bluefish!! Dropped the jig to the botton and brought it in slow BAM fish on. The next action also came my way when two small Bluefish were landed while trolling a umbrella rig! The last fish came trolling also but this time it hit the lure called 30+.
On the way home we stoped at a lake we keep hearing about. Its called "Spring lake", the layout is very nice but it wasnt popping and we left after a hour.

Better then I expected but ill take bass fishing over saltwater fishing!!

you should deffinetly try the salt more often, go during september-november to the shore and throw a bucktail jig into a blitz, the bait fish get pushed onto shore by the stripers and blues and its prety much cast after cast that you hook up!!

Fish landed-I-5/Jeff-4/Dennis-0

Day started off at "Farrington". The fish were not active at all but they started to pick up alittle as the day went on. Jeff(MFK member) had the first real fish of the day on but it got off at the boat. The first fish of the day was actually a bluegill I caught while using a DT-4. My next fish was a very nice CP and I banged a decent two pound bass alittle later. Then Jeff banged a nice CP that was atleast 3lbs!! Jeff also landed a small bass before we left.

We were going to call it a day but on the way home I decided for us to go by "Etra" lake. By the time we arrived the wind was blowing like 40mph. We all were looking like na forget this but it was a shoreline that was blocked from the wind so we went ahead. Jeff bangded the first, ripping a spinny threw the grass. I came back with one on the buzzy. Then Jeff came through with a very nice 3.15 that picked up his jig!! I was able to get a another small one before we called it quits!

Not of fish landed but it was fun!!!
