FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

Yes wire baits(buzzy, spinny, and chatter) are my # 1!!

But as much as I would like the fish to think the same it isnt realistic. As a bass fisherman you learn they have moods and its alot of things that effect it. Rubber will work all year around but at certain times it will not be the king of the day. Now in the summer time when water temps stay above 75 the rubber becomes number one but in the morning the fish are active so I throw the wire baits HEAVY. Once the sun is beaming down its worm time.

I say all that to say rubber is definitly something you should use. I see a hang over, laydown, or a brush pile in the middle of the day I might throw the buzzy once or twice then follow up with dinger or my favorite MONSTER catcher the 1/4 oz bullet weight and a 10" worm(The big girls like it) .

Your average angler mainly use senkos/dingers and in the summer time it works but when the fish are active wire baits win everytime. One thing about the worm tho it goes deeper and slower and that tends to produce bigger fish landed.

I like but worm but its too slow for me, give me wire baits all day!!!

cool good post, thanks for the info. I have NEVER had luck with any lures or anything with smallies until i tried the senkos. I have had luck with lures on the lmb, but there arent any good public ponds to fish for them around here becuase most are fished out becuase people always keep them:screwy: but i appreciate the info

Np!!

Yeah I catch smallies on pretty much the same things I use for LMB. I love catching them on top water, they love the buzzy and poppers!!

I went in the Long Island Sound again yesterday for a couple of hours. I caught a bluefish and a few more searobins.

Found a beautiful stream 10 minutesbike ride from our house and have spent about 14 hours there in the last three days. Got back from there at lunch time after spending 6 hours there. I havent caught a lot but it is still fun.
Yesterday i saw a smallmouth looking at me and a few minutes later felt a big tug i set the hook and the smallmouth exploded out of the water then he dived pulling out line. he went up to the surface and mad three beautiful leaps.
I landed him. He was only about 11 inches but was awesome to fight. Fish of the day landed on a wooly bugger that i tied!!!

Went trout fishing today caught about 14 trout. Caught a couple nice big rainbow trouts and let them go. Latter in the day right at the boat ramp it was midge central and they were hitting any well presented fly set out there.
