FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

Will go fishing today.
Yesterday went to my river with a friend. He was freaking out the entire time. He was super afraid of crawdads and mosquitos and would scream if little fish nibbled on his legs. He got third place in taekwondo nationals in his category.
I will never take another person there again!
That was the first time i didnt catch a fish there too.

I haven't been all week but I do have a crappy update from Sunday. I'm on vacation next week an I'll be fishing everyday except Monday. I hope to try this place out called andrey lake. It's a hour and half ride but it's the only lake in NJ that's mostly ALL smallmouth, well their at the top of the food chain!!!

Went fishing but only caught three creek chub.

I know you probably know a lot more about smallmouth then i do but here are some tips ihave learned.
Smallmouth arent as aggressive as largemouth so fish a bit slower.
Smallmouth dont stay close to structure as much as largemouth do the like to go deeper.
Smallmouth prefer smaller lures, a 8 inch bass worm is too large for smallmouth.
Try poppers, buzzies might be pretty big i dont know.

Lost a 200 dollar fly reel that my uncle gave me and broke a 30 dollar rod so now i have
1 fly reel that work ok
2 fly rods that are fairly good
1 expensive fly rod that i may be able to fix
3 spinning reels, one is very cheap, one is good and one is pink (was my sisters
2 rods one is pink and has had the first eye hole section removed (it still works though one heas the first two eye holes taken off
1 zebco reel (i HATE those)
1 Zebco rod

How did you lose a 200 dollar reel? Also For spinners Mitchell avocet are hard to beat for 35 bucks. I had a older model for like 5 years and just broke down this spring after some real abuse. Also the Orvis Battenkill Bar Stock Fly Reel is pretty good.

Well fishing around here has slowed down, its probaly cause the water is reaching 90 some days. Today was no different. The fish of the day was a decent cp that liked the spinny. Hopefully some rain will come and cool things down. Also here is a pic I took last week!!

I cant wait until fall feed!!!

I would say that smallies are more aggressive!

smallies fight more aggressive than the lmbs but they're not aggressive feeders unlike the lmbs. Smallies also feed on their line of sight rather than chasing meals or lures.

personally i've never caught smallies on buzzbaits. however they kill jigs, grubs and senko worms.
