GIANT gouramis

Fishcube
No, they don't take long. They grow very quickly. I was going by what you were asking for... If you can find them at the smaller size, by all means, go for them.
I have never seen red tails offered at smaller than 4 inches (the size of my group of 4) and they were still pretty highly priced for me. It seems to be the "regular" ones that go for $10 - O. goramy, that is. But again, they are very sporadic in their appearance at stores. I have seen absolutely no "pattern" or "season" for them. I did see them on one of the vendor's lists the other day, however - 2 to 3 inches, I think? If I remember, they were $8 or so.
Sorry, I don't have pictures of mine just yet.

PS
I have experience raising O. goramy to larger size - and they grow fast. These red tails are my first, so I cannot vouch for their growth rate, as compared to O. goramy. (Somebody wanna answer that?)

Thanks. But, those $10 babies don't take long to get to 6"-12" correct? :) so, was hoping to find them at a reasonable price.

I'd love to see more pics of everyone's giant gouramis.

Actually, the GG I bought for $10 was already about 5"

It's white with a pink hue to it, and two gold spots on the face. I've seen pure white ones with the gold forehead spots, but not pink ones???

I bought it in Long Beach, CA at Tom's Tropical Fish.

White - sounds interesting - let's see some pics!! Both of mine are pink. Never seen a white one.

They don't get any cuter than that!

What happened to his tail, Junito?

His tail is fine, he just decided to clamp his fins just before I took the picture. This was the only shot where he actually stood still. He's a bit camera shy.

Nice GG Junito! Look at those perfect streamers! :)

I KNOW!!!
