I'd have put good money on your saying it's a male;)

I'm not saying his rtgg is a male!:irked: Pointed face and lips means it's a female.

Nice little redtail, DJ :)

Richmond as in leaming bar?

Yer im close to there , my dad works in Leamming , and are you referring to me in your other post on saying my GRFG is a male not a female . ?

If you are , i am sure it is a female as i have a few of the smaller speeices of Gouramis in my planted tank and have alway been told and read that females have a rounder top fin and she does , i know it looks like in most of the pictures she has a pionted fin but it the way she was at the time she was a none stop swimmer that day and never stopped so when taking the photos she was turnning round in the tank and making her fins benned and made it look more pionted ost of the time .

I will try tomorrow to get some updated pictures of her and try and show you the rounded fin .

Your RTGG is diffinetly a female, and I don't say that because of any fin shape. I go by the shape of the mouth and head area, because I have females that have dorsel fins that are just as pointy as the males in the same tank. Yanbbrox just read one of my posts incorrectly, I think.

I thought female too when I saw the pictures, but Tequila tends to be the thread expert on sexing as he has both.

Mine doesn't like to jump as such just some times bang on the hood, in the wild they will jump for fruit and berries, I think this is just the same thing

Try greens, lettuce peas etc, they are naturally vegetarian, hang a leave under the hood and I'd be surprised if it doesn't have a nibble. Mine went(and still does) goes through spurts of growth then doesn't eat much for a good few days, when it eats it eats a lot

One of my females did successfully jump out whilst I was cleaning the tank and had the top open. But as a general rule I keep the total top enclosed at all times. Because when spooked they will attempt to bolt especially if they see a fishnet!

In my case, mine have been known to eat almost anything except the kitchen sink and cheese, oh yeah an human food. Where as Yanbbrox fish has been known to eat everything from cheese and blood saugages to roasted duck and mango crumpets. All while Yanbbrox sits back puffing on one of his f_ags, whilst sucking down a bottle of that great English wine we hear so much about.;) But what can you expect he lives over there on the darkside of the moon.
