Gravel sizes Small, Medium, and Large.

If your having odor problems then you need too either cut down on the amount of fish you keep, or the amount of food and times you feed them and or use a larger amount of Ammo-Carb/Ammonia Remover ---> or water polisher like Chemi-Pure, but this could be very expensive depending on where you live.

"i am currently runing all 3 types of filteration" which three types of filteration you referring too?

Too true;)

How's your big guy doing? All healed up?

One of my RTGG's managed too scratch one of it's eye lenses last week but it looks as if it may have started to heal on it's own. It started to cloud up and all on Friday of last week but this morning it looked clearer. So keep your fingers crossed, for one thing I won't do is try and treat a fish in 180gal of water for any of a number of reasons.

Sounds good, glad everything is ok, why not treat, just curious?

Are you serious?, treat 180US Gal of water - just the first dose let alone the full five to ten day dose will cost a small bundle. Secondly, treating a tank with UGF will more than likely effect the bactria load of the UG, maybe even killing it completely. Most medications but not all cause discoloring or staining of water and silicone. Plus then after treatment I would need to run the canister full of carbon and Chemi-pure to clear all medication and staining from the tank, a water change just wouldn't do it fast enough. Plus, I don't think that the other fish in the tank would appreciate it at all. I have always used a strongest will survive attitude with my fish. Well always except once and I'm living to regret that choice now.:irked: Seperation is out of the question, a 2+ pound fish in a 55gal that has glass thin enough for it to crack, shoud it decide to go nutz and nothing in place to keep it from leaping ain't a happening or intelligent thing.

Ok I hope that you now understand why I won't and or can't medicate the fish.

The co-dominate male that lost it's dorsal fin too fin & tail rot after loosing the first big battle between to the two males when they where only 5~6 inches each. I removed the male to another tank and treated and isolated him for almost a month. Before he was healthly enough to return to the tank. I only did this because of what they cost and that I thought it would be cheaper than purchasing another male at the time, was I wrong.

i am currently cutting down on my feeding.

current set up is foam, 1 bag of carbon, and bio max. going to add more carbon on next filter cleaning and maybe a water polisher. hopefully i will have my new tank done by then.

a plastic storage bin with a lid can be use as a good treatment tank yeah:D

A few questions:
Whats the size of the tank?, whats the amount and size of the fish in the tank?, What and how much are you feeding them?, and what are you using for filteration, ie: Canister Filter, UG= Under Gravel, Power Filter & what is the media in the filter(s)? also is this tank new = a few months old or up for a while 1 yr or better?

An Answer:
to your suggestion of a treatment tank - good suggestion, but if it was that easy I would put all of them in plastic sweater boxes left over from breeding of reptile days and fill my tank with exotic turtles and be happy once again.
