Looking nice George, I'm not a sump expert so can't really comment but it looks good.

No but the hosing, clamps, valves and piping all of that falls under plumbing supplies in my book. Not filtering materials, but I guess thats what seperates he pros from the cons. With the all in one canisters you get a set amount of tubing, some elbows and strainers and maybe a return nozzle or spray bar. And you just work with what they give you.
I prefer to custom do my tank, I drilled my tank so there were no uprights or intakes to be seen, no annoying noisy spray bars. other tanks I've done that can't be drilled, I've made corner or even center back overflo's for.

i am a newbie, so need to start from the bottom and with the basics. hopefully i will gain enough knowledge to become a pro.
