Dude what is the average temp of your home? I don't think that George really needs that much in the way of heat, he's a big boy now. Plus I dought that your place is really the cold.

It's not that cold, I don't know for sure, this being a new house(10 years ago) it does retain heat well, it does get cold in the winter.

True, but it costs, on a par for par basis the FX5 is just as good at the fraction of the cost

Nope didn't get around to the tank yet, may just start keeping geckoes in it instead.

Don't get me wrong Ehiems are great filters but I now believe that Ocean clears are better.

I really want a giant gourami, there are a lot of reasons why i cant have one in my 125. They eat almost ANYTHING and LOTS of it! I LOVE FISH!

if you cant get a GG, maybe you would be interested in a climbing perch? saw this on the classifieds section. related the the gourami, and they only grow up to about 10 inches. looks like a kool fish. wouldnt mind having one!

how about 1 EEGG and a watermelon pleco and call it a day?

been researching oceanclears. two canisters, and a pump would cost me around $500

i am leaning toward fx5 due to the low cost and a DIY sump out of a trash bin but still deciding on a pump.

Hmmm..... Don't get me wrong I like Fluvals too almost as much as Ehiems. But I gotta ask you why would you need 2 Ocean Clear Canister, what size tank you filtering?
