I did the 25% water change today, Gussy had no issues. If you stand in front of the tank, Gussy will act all tough and aggressive. If I put a hand into the water, he chills right out. I think that when I initially put the background on the tank it frightened him enough to do the capet dance.

LOL :) Is that like that? How many do you have?

I presently have what is believed and hoped to be 2.2, though that could change with size or if one gets eaten:naughty:

I'd appreciate a tutorial with pictures if ever you decide to eat one of them :) Preparation until it's in your plate :)

Maybe you should minimise the lights while putting on the background... and do it when you have finished doing a water change... Gussy will be used to you messing around in the tank then so he won't be alarmed.

Matt, any new pics of the patient?

I tried putting the background on in the dark, it worked fine until morning. Although Gussy wasn't scared, he did get a bit upset at the back of his tank being black. He constantly attacked the back wall, splashing several gallons of water out of the tank. I decided to forgo a background until I move him to a bigger tank. I'm guessing that being in a completely new environment will keep him from being a butthead about the background.

For some reason Gussy's tank water is pretty murky after the 25% water change, with a thin layer of slime on the inside tank surface. I'll keep changing 3 to 4 US gallons out every morning, it should clear up in a couple more days. Hopefully the medication will have done it's job and his fins will start growing to their full, proper length and size. I'll post a couple pics once the water clears up and certainly a bunch if his fins start growing (keeping fingers crossed).

Sure thing. If I do decide to eat one it will probably be the male that only has a small dorsal fin do to a fight when it was only 3 to 4 inches with another grtg, and then contracted fin rot. The dorsal fin has never regained it's original shape. So to compensate this grtg while not the biggest length wise is by far the thickest. And also the biggest bully.
