but, I've got a close up of the mouth, by close up I mean to my standards not Lou's, you can see the teeth development if you look closely. Sorry for the horrible shadows, Lou said use flash:confused::

Hmmm... angle is a little bit too much... and the reflection of what's behind you is annoying... maybe you can correct the angle and take the picture at night, when all the lights, except for the tank's light, are off.

Play with it, my friend. :) Onboard flash sucks but if you learn how to make the most of it, your pictures should improve a lot :)

Great! :) Please remember that it's not about taking one picture but a dozen (while trying new settings)...then sitting and looking at them on your computer screen and choosing the best one... ;)

I have a new project on the way... apart from the over-tank filter, which seems to be losing its appeal as, apparently, I could get another canister from the total cost involved in its construction. So... I'm finishing (finally) the cabinets (got doors to add) under my tank stand, redoing the whole piping system of the canisters to make them more pleasing to the eye (mine, especially) and getting a glass cover for the tank.

Budgeted cost: Rs 3000 (£ 64 or US $ 125) :)

A dozen? try 50, it goes something like this:
It's crap delete,
it's crap delete, it's crap delete, etc.

I thought you were really keen on the let it all hang out over the tank filter thing?

:WHOA:I knew the dollar was weak against the pound but $12:ROFL:

I was really... but I'd rather use the funds to complete something than start another... ;)

Just finished making the two intake pipes with PVC tubes and suction cups... used a knife and a lighter to make the holes to fix the suction cups in the PVC tubes... the tip of the knife to dig a small hole (I don't have a drill and it's way too late to go borrow my brother's) and the lighter to heat the plastic so I could push in the suction cups. Worked wonderfully :) Now, to complete them, I just need to cap off the tubes, drill the caps with small holes for the water to be sucked in and the fish will be safe from any ragged edges... that applies especially to my rowdy cats ;) Will do that tomorrow... need to buy caps and borrow a drill...

With some luck, I should be done with the whole project in 2 weeks :) Too bad I won't be able to paint the tubings in black... that Krylon spray paint doesn't exist here...

A few things:
1. where is the thread on this project
2. why have we no pictures:confused:
3. are Mauritians taught from an early age that everything should be painted black or blue, but recently mainly black:ROFL:

'Ok children today we were going to do some basic maths but instead we are going to discuss the joys of painting everything black, if that's not your favourite colour you can paint it blue':ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Actually I find that black is a better background color for Discus Aquariums.

i have a 55 gallon in burlington with a flame gourami that my boyfriend bought me, i never wanted one for the record, i liked my silver dollars. then it became eight inches in my 29 gallon tank. now he is about 10 inches in the 55 gal. i guess he purchased the wrong one!!! i wanted a powder dawrf and got something else definatley. i will have to keep upsizing my tank if this guy keeps on growing. it is not what i planned for, but i am prepared to take the best care of him possiable. what happened???

Yeah good luck with that....mine do nothing but fight all night long and rip up the tank too. If it's green they eat it or shread it, Hmmmm you have a large enough tank you want 4 more GG's?:D I don't think mine will make it through the rest of this year. There either going to drive me to cooking them of maybe I should just through them in the family pond hehehe.:D

Yeah thanks fingers crossed

yes it could hold 3 or 4 gg's but my wife would kill me. gg's like my little one are selling for around 250 aud or grey's for around 150.

throw them in the pond :grinno: they'd luv it for sure.
