Yes, my goal is to have a 180-220 with a bunch of polys and some more mellow cichlids. Polleni is my primary cichlid goal.
I think with how I'm doing it, starting with UJs and getting them larger, that I could add LJs when I get the big tank. My only problem is that then the Ropes couldn't live in the big tank most likely per Dr. B's experience and I think I agree. I would be really devastated to find one of my charming, beloved ropes in a LJ's mouth.
So doing an all UJ tank is tempting because they could stay, and I could add to their group.
But... I would LOVE at least a couple of LJs though. I don't know what to do.
I can always work on a secondary tank like a 90 gallon with ropes, and keep it heavily planted... then what else goes in there that is interesting?
I am watching you closely because we have similar fish likes.
(A fire eel is also a dream fish of mine, but not positive a 180 or 220 is big enough for life, or for how long. I know they can be with polys though.)
