Honduran red points

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah all my HRP have between 5-6 stripes. The green ones have 5 and the blue ones have 6. And even then, those stripes are broken.

Also, on the Jeff Rapps note, do you know if Jeff ever sold any "Honduran calico points" back when he still sold fish? If so, are these Honduran red points mixed with calico convicts or something? Or what is the background on them? I ask because I picked up a young pair from a friend a while back when he used to order a lot of fish from Jeff. The pair is much older now and the male has really nice red finnage. I never kept and offspring from them because there in my community tank and the fry always ended up being snacks. I'm wondering if I should actually try to save their offspring now since the male is quite nice looking.

@Showtimekev Would you happen to have any information on this since you have contact to Jeff Rapps?

I have incredible news, I just heard back from him. He says his are F3, and that his stock is wild. I am currently asking him if he collected them, and if he'd be able to take requests on sexing or specific appearance. If they're F3 and look as pure as they do I definitely believe him. May be making an order soon.
About this, in which way did you contact him? Was it through email on his website where it says to contact them (where you leave your name, number, and email)? Or was it through their Facebook page, etc?

I believe I emailed directly.

We are traveling today and will be doing so untill the 25th but will be checking emails daily at some point when we can.
I know he sold them, but I'm not sure if they were pure. Tuic to this day occasionally sells CB line bred/non pure fish.

not anymore. I sold them off probably a year and a half ago. I work with just the pure line now. Downside is I can only offer them less often now thats all.

Ah gotcha, I just meant in general, I saw you had pink convicts a little while back. Last time I saw the marbled HRPs for sale was around the time Jeff retired, timelines probably match up in that case.

My super blue pair finally were able to have a successful spawn. They had attempted 5 times previously but they’d eat the fry before they were free swimming, but this time it looks promising. From my past experiences, after a week of them free swimming they’re usually in the clear and grow up with no problems. Here are pics!
