Here's a $5 Walmart Special air pump that is 5 years old and is pumping to the bottom of a 42" deep tank like the thing was brand new and on steroids. My Whisper quit at about 30".

I have multiple Danner Mag-Drive Supreme Pumps in varies sizes ranging from 2,250 through 3,600 GPH . I only use these pumps, I feel the are the best for me, and produce very little heat and noise. Most of the pumps have been in continuous use since 2001 and some are in 12 hour start and stop loops. I have only had one freeze up because the impeller magnet exploded. The replacement part was easy to get and replace. I used to use the Little Giant pumps but they produced lots of noise and heat and some of them leaked both air and water.
hagen fluval fx5 --- like the entergiser buddy it keeps going and going, also eheim Jager 250watt heaters have 2 on my 135 and they keep going and going they are well work the money.
I had a Rio power filter run for about 9 years I think it was, it only died because of a mishap with a Gourami.. It worked well the whole time I had it.
Also the heater I got at the same time is still running not sure of the name though. What I can read says John with fish for the "O".

had a Hot magnum running continuosly for 9 years, and several aquaclears 300 and 500's zero repairs and minimal maintainence. Best bang for your early years (teens).
