How Long Has Your Equipment Lasted?

aqua nova 1500 lph been running now for 4years with only one problem the factory seals on the hose connesctor leaked one so i replaced them and put a second set on never had a problem since also a home made filter out of a 25L drum with a power head and a heap of DIY filter media was running on my tank untill i put it on my pond and there it is still running after 5years
 
I just broke the motor head on my Fluval 305 canister filter. I think I can super glue the piece of plastic I broke off back on... I was trying to pry the damn thing off so I can clean it, and the butter knife (I know, stupid) just snapped the motor head housing in one little piece, and it is right on the edge/seal. Does anybody think that if I super glued this plastic piece back on would work? If not, what should I do? I dont have enough money to buy a new filter, so I need some advice?

All where bought second hand, I have replaced on ceramic stick, worth $2,-.
 
Which filters are better, the Eheim pro 2, or the Fluval FX5 Canister A218 and why do you suggest so? I have a 60 gallon that I need a new filter for... and any suggestions on what filtration Id need for a 200 gallon tall tank?

fluval 303 and 403' lasted 10years or more. then I sold them thinking i was upgrading to 404's. Found a great internet deal from a vendor. And purchased 4 at once, I have had leaks, propeller issues and breakage on all four since 2005. the last year they have been giving me hell with leaking. One is just dead. So I'm runnning two currently, and looking to move to the FX5 or the ehiem equilvalent. But the Ehiem is pricey.
