How Long Has Your Equipment Lasted?

Eheim gets my vote. Been running a 2026 for 8+ years. I just bought my 3rd one last week.

Rena seems to be good also. I've been running an xp2 for about 3 years. My only problem with the xp2 is that looking at the design it would seem to bypass the filter media if it got clogged so the flow rate remains constant and you have no relative gauge to when it needs to be serviced. But if you keep it on a schedule - great filter.

After all these years in aquarium world. Eheim is still the best pump.

Cheap $6.99 "Aqua Expert 600" air pump---3 years and continues to pump a good airflow and it's the most quiet pump I have. Have not replaced a thing on it. Not sure why it's still going strong...probably a fluke as every other air pump I have bought is a piece of crud.

I'll be the bad guy: only filter out of probably 20 that I have had over the years that ever FAILED and almost flooded my house was an Eheim2028 after only 3yrs. It got to take a fun ride in the dumptruck. I have a couple of Emperor400s & a 280 that are going on 9yrs now. Also 4 fluval404s, oldest of which is about 6-7yrs old with no problems (knockonwood).

Eheim 2028 6 yr.
Eheim 2262 1yr.

No problems, all original, running non stop except for cleanings.
I'm very happy with Eheim, and so are my fish.

Fluval 303 running continuously with minimal service (3x per year max) since 1991! Only time I had to disconnect was to hooked it to a bigger tank. Started using it for my 60g mbuna, then to a 55g planted tank, to a 120g tanganyikan and finally as a supplement filter to my 240g arowana tank which I have today. It's a working horse solid and dependable.
