Well, I've only been a fishkeeper for two years so I can't really say what the best is.
I'm running a XP3, and a few used HOB filters.. all runs great.

BUT.. After reading this thread.. when I buy another larger tank I will be keeping Eheim in mind due to the huge positive response in here.

the theo brand 400 watt heater is tough and efective evan takes reddevil and jag temper tamtrums i got 3 heaters had 3 years this january got them at petsmart 39.99.

Agree Theo brand never failed me or my grandparents parents. I had one for over a year. An my grandparents had there 300 watt for around 5 yrs.

i got a got an AC500 (now is a AC110) that was made in 97 and it still works like a charm.

I just use walmart filters...if it breaks you can always buy a new one and return the old one , i call it sticking it to the man that took our jobs and money
