NO hydros have forked tails as they get older. The Scombs had tails like Elephant nose do, I have seen this in young Tats as well. I can't explain anymore. If my camera wasn't broke I'd dig them all out of the freezer and take pics of the tails for you.

If it was me I would have allready went back and bought the rest, if there is even a chance it's worth it.

The debate's dumb. It is what it is and that will become obvious in the weeks to come.

honestly,i want to get the rest.
but if they ALL turn out to be scombs....then i'll have alot of trouble.
first,they cant compete with pbass and i only have one tank.
second...kinda hard to sell scombs.
so my choice would be feed them to the other fish...
the others act and look like scombs FOR SURE.
this guy looks like a scomb,but swims like armatus.

i added loads of feeders 10 minutes ago.
he hastn eaten any....

NOT A PERFECT MATCH.
its just both our pics are suckish...mine doesnt really show what my fish really looks like.
mine has the classic scomberoides "under pectoral spot".hmm...
this friday im going hydrolycus hunting.
cause im sure many shops around singapore will be getting these.
see if i spot any more "armatus".

My guy at 2"-2 1/2".......I think your guys tail is to small and to much of a silver tint..... but I am no expert by any means! Hope it is for ya!!

Here is a few good pics off aquascapes website! Looking at these I am leaning Armatus! There are a few more on the website.

i think youre right....yours has a bigger tail compared to mine.
plus yours and aquascapes both dont have the pectoral spot....
my guys not actually that silvery.
its the flash.
i'll grow him out and see what happens...
and i'll go armatus hunting this weekend.

Well, I am not an expert. Cos never keep before only seen them.
Try not to get such a high hope so will not get high disappointment.

My guess is a scomb. Base on the eye and the mouth shape...need to be round abit more than look like.

Still scomb do get as big as >100cm Seen some big ones too.
Most important is you like your fish. I also ever try to find armatus in scomb.
As there are case before armatus found in scomb batch.

The second set of pics dont look armatus to me any more. Jaw is angled very sharply and the tail and fins seems small. Give it ten days and keep a constant supply of guppy in the tank and they you will know 100%.
