It looks fairly minor so it might straighten out when bigger/fatter. If it does get worse though, it might not grow too big.

Quick update. I’m going on a two week trip to Cali for Christmas so I figured I should do an update beforehand. All the bichirs are doing well and I’ve seen lots of growth ( especially from my endli, bam bam who’s reached around 9-10 inches) I’ll attach some pics. The broken back doesn’t seem to be affecting terry the teugelsi as he’s pretty active and eats lots. Sometimes it’s not even visible. Sorry about the crappy pics I’m not the greatest at taking pictures lol.
Nice bichirs! Haven’t been checking up on this website so never saw your posts. As they grow older, bichirs will start to lose their feathered gills. From what I’ve seen endlis tend to keep them longer compared to other bichirs. The less oxygenated the water is, it will take longer before bichirs fully lose their feathered gills.
as for your teug, it’s still young, so higher chance it will straighten its back out. Just keep monitoring.
Update time. I got back from vacation and they all still look good and only a little skinnier. Tuegelsi is still a little shy. I had an Asian bumblebee catfish that I was saving for my friend that I’m pretty sure my endli ate, the little sh*t. His stomach was huge this morning and I saw him try to eat him yesterday but I stopped him.
is there any benefit to keeping bichirs with minimum to no decor? I feel like I see a lot of bichir keepers with several in a tank have little to no decor.

Update time.
I got a weeksii pretty recently. He hides a lot but looks very nice and has great patterns. I’m pretty sure he’s wc. Here he is next to my teugelsi. I know bichir growth rates aren’t really linear but under good water quality how fast have your guys weeksii grown?
All the other bichirs have grown significantly. The endli is pushing a foot now I believe. Here is a slightly older pic of him:
The ornate and teugelsi are doing amazing as well. But I had a question on my platinum Senegal. His color has seemed to become less platinum and more normal Senegal. Is there anything I can do to get that to stop? I’ll post some pics later.
