I heard a wild max size is 2 foot, captive size around 1.5 foot.

So what's the reason for the jag attacking everything in my community tank after only 10 minutes of being there if it needs to settle in?

I had to stick the jag in with my oscars and wolf because it was being too aggressive, yet it got owned by my snakehead.

I@m sure your pit would destroy much larger dogs, like labradors, probably even dobermann and rotweilers. However it would not destroy something like a dogue de bordeaux or japanese tosa. They are tough as hell and much bigger.

In the same vein an 18 inch dovii would destroy a 3 foot carp, but not a 3 foot snakehead or wolf fish.

If you like cichlids fair enough, but if an aggressive 18 inch dovii and an aggressive 3 foot snakehead were put into a neutral tank, and you had to bet your life on it you'd pick the snakehead and you know it. Anyone who would not pick the snakehead

This is not about my snakehead being the toughest fish alive, don't be such idiots, this is about my snakehead being absurdly aggressive for a juvenile fish. I find it funny and surprising and I've been trying to see if anything can live with it.

I'm under no illusions that one of SG's snakeheads (see catfish video) would rip my snakehead in half. My fish is nowhere near as big and brutal as those yet, he's just a vicious little baby. Just like I'm under no illusions that my 9 inch wolf would probably kill my channa, as the wolf is too fat for the snakehead to get it's mouth around.

Dont you see it ??? your jag is really aggressive to your community fish after ten minutes right??? so how much more aggressive would he be when he is in a breeding mood in his own tank.
Keep a shoal of Piranha's large jag whith the sh=jag beats up sh piranhas get in a feeding frenzy and no mor sh

Like I mentioned before I'm in the process of seeing how compatible my snakehead is with other fish before it grows up.

I've tested it with a bunch of fish so far. It's killed a spotted gar, a hujeta, a convict, a texas cichlid, and attacked a larger oscar.

I heard jaguar cichlids were very aggressive and would stand up to anything so I bought one today to go with my channa.

My channa is 6 inches, and the jag is around 6 inches, maybe slightly less.

The jag went into the channas cave, and the channa did nothing. Just looked confused and turned around a few times looking at the jag.

Then when the jag left the cave the channa rushed out and chased it, bit it twice. The jag then hid behind a filter vertically and I thought it was dead, but it's still alive, I took it out and put it with my jardini and peacock bass.

It didn't stand a chance.

Next week I'm going to buy a 7 inch dovii I've seen and put that with my snakehead. I want to see if my snakehead is compatible with something that stands up to it, so far nothing has.

Put a few pirhana's (spelling?) in there with it and see what happens lol

This is the dumbest threah ever.
This guy is really insecure.
I'd really like to put this so called "killer" snakehead with my
barred Midas or male Dovii.
The snakehead wouldnt stand a chance against them.
They move quicker and go for the throat.
The only reason your snakehead would win is because of a size advantage.

Sorry to say it but sounds like you want to see a bunch of fish die...

The snakehead had probably died by now.

Wow! I have a headache reading all this-I think the original OP is kind of mean by putting fish in his tank to experiment-and then letting them die-cruel in my opinion-it's kind of like he knows what is going to happen but still puts in more fish to be killed by his Snakehead-I personally don't buy fish cause it's the baddest fish in the planet I buy them cause I truly like them and have a passion for them-and if I personally had to settle with one Umbee (for example) in my 1032 gallon pond I would I think a lot of times people are selfish and think about their needs first and not the fish-personally I think this guy made a lot of bad choices.
