seems to me like you're trying to see how many fish your snakehead will kill. but thats just my opinion. i've never kept snakeheads and have no desire to but from what i do know they will eventually kill anything in the tank and i hate the thought of putting a 10-12 inch midas or trimac in the tank only to eventually find them dead. thats just a waste of a beautiful fish.

A buddy of mine had a 3 foot SH and it killed everything, a larger Dovi or Umbee would likley tear up your little guy. I think that keeping him alone would allow him to develop a good personality and cut down on the sacrifices

I highly doubt that. Like I said I think the fish would have to be able to swallow him to defeat him.

I'll follow the advice of you guys about removing the cave, and maybe even put a new fish in a divided bit to let it settle in.

But I doubt it will make much difference.

The biggest fish I tried him with was an oscar (who lived with my wolf) who must have weighed about 4 times as much, and it was in the oscars tank. The snakehead was in a divider temorarily while i setup a tank.

Straight away the snakehead went nose to nose with the oscar and when the oscar didn't move the channa bit.

The oscar fought back, managed to get in a couple of bites, but it was outmatched. The channa darted around the tank, repeatedly striking it, so I quickly took it out and put it back with the wolf and other oscar before any damage was done.

I can't imagine a dovii getting the better of it unless it was big enough to fit the snakehead in it's mouth, and obviously I don't wanna risk a fish that big.

my snakehead is an angry little fish with a grudge.

And no I'm not just seeing how many fish my channa can kill, I am seeing if a tankmate is possible. I don't like keeping fish alone, I prefer to see fish interacting with each other.

Just a quick update for those that said a 6 inch jag will not be showing it's personality yet and being aggressive, I put it in my community tank and it's being aggressive to everything in there. The only fish that's standing up to it is my 7 inch jardini, which it runs away from, but no actual fighting so far.
