I believe it will eventually sink in, which could be a good and bad thing. I've got plenty though so I can always add more and pull sand out as required.

Anyway, unfortunately I'm not able to get the Dwarf Pencilfish until tomorrow, which is another 90 minute drive, but I've got the day off so I may as well warm the planet.

Did however pick up a Hydor ETH 200W Inline Heater and attached it, as well as some driftwood. Also removed the sword. Obviously a bit more dense than the actual biotope photos but I'm very happy with it.

Edit:

Almost forgot, those who have followed my threads for a while may remember this guys. Delivered my Lemon Tetra and Corydoras julii to the lovely gentleman that bought my H. temporalis + G. altifrons "Rio Tocantins", and has recently purchased my old A. heckelii shoal off the person that originally bought them.

Chocolate is 10-11" TL easily, the altifrons would be pushing at least 9-10", and the A. heckelii male is probably about 7.5"

Sorry about the heckelii shot, he'd just done a water-change with some lovely green tank water and he wouldn't come to the front :(

Love the wood work in this tank. Personnaly, I love the look of tannin stained water. Are you planning on keeping the tank that way or going to clear it out? All my tanks are pretty dark with tannins.

Nice to see an update on the past fish as well, thanks.

Definitely sticking with the tannins, even purchased a few small pieces of African Mopani wood today which releases a lot of tannins that I can stick in whenever I feel I need to darken it up. At the moment most of the tannins are from the leaves. The tinged water looks amazing under a halide as you get nicely pronounced light beams as well - I have a new found love for single point source lighting.

Why was this thread moved? It's a progressive worklog and while it may contain a reasonable amount of photographs in the original post, the purpose of the thread is to answer questions and detail changes to my setups.

From the thread detailing the addition of the CA/SA Media lounge. As the owner of this thread I'd classify it I'd primarily classify it as an informational thread.
