I believe it will eventually sink in, which could be a good and bad thing. I've got plenty though so I can always add more and pull sand out as required.
Anyway, unfortunately I'm not able to get the Dwarf Pencilfish until tomorrow, which is another 90 minute drive, but I've got the day off so I may as well warm the planet.
Did however pick up a Hydor ETH 200W Inline Heater and attached it, as well as some driftwood. Also removed the sword. Obviously a bit more dense than the actual biotope photos but I'm very happy with it.
Edit:
Almost forgot, those who have followed my threads for a while may remember this guys. Delivered my Lemon Tetra and Corydoras julii to the lovely gentleman that bought my H. temporalis + G. altifrons "Rio Tocantins", and has recently purchased my old A. heckelii shoal off the person that originally bought them.
Chocolate is 10-11" TL easily, the altifrons would be pushing at least 9-10", and the A. heckelii male is probably about 7.5"
Sorry about the heckelii shot, he'd just done a water-change with some lovely green tank water and he wouldn't come to the front
