This thread is awesome! It has given me tons of great ideas for setting up my sump. Now I just have to gather supplies and design a layout! :crazy:

I wonder how it's been for her to service those FX5's under there...Wasn't that a low slung square "Ray" tank?

I like the idea too,

But I think I'd go, Drain to Reeflow DART, to Ultima II 1000, to UV, then to Heater modules, back to tank. That way you can just plumb the backwash port to waste or collection for garden etc, and never have to open the tops of the canister and stuff...Just reach under to move the lever...;):D

Wow, so many nice setups I almost didn't post.
OK here's my humble setup. DIY 2' x 8' UGF feeding a Little Giant MD-5C pump to twin 2.5" x 10" simple cartridge filters (20 Micron) plumbed in parallel to an inline Heater and back to the top of the tank thru a DIY spray bar. Cheap and simple. All the equipment is housed outside in a cabinet on the exterior wall behind the tank. Gotta love a temperate climate
