I think the extension is a great idea. I'm curious though, do you know why the original tank started to leak? Did the drylok fail or was it a construction issue?
lovin that idea of having the back lower so the fish look like there comin from nowhere but why r u only doin 1 side is there something in the way or other problems
The other side is where the filter will be located, and I've also got to be able to get behind the take for maint. and to feed. As it stands right now there's 3' of walk space behind the tank, I'm just using some of that space
The tank leaked for a few reasons... the main reason was because I was walking around in it and broke one of the seams (that's the theory atleast). I resealed that when that happened with sanitred and now a year later it's leaking again in roughly the same spot. Very disapointed... I said to myself that if it ever leaked again I'd try and figure out how to make it bigger... And I think I have
Incidently, I still think the drylok would have worked, but I'm going to be trying something different by using pond armor. I'm also going to be taking my time this time LOL
Wow I remember reading the thread at cf while you were building it.
Sorry it sprung a leak but its great that you are so positive and are using the chance to go bigger!
Well, I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't upset when I found the leak. I really wasn't ready to be doing anything like this so soon... but so be it... I suppose I'm just trying to make the best of it...
lol if you need help lemme know! TFG's 800 was the insperation for my 600 on CF. No leaks in mine so far. You should do like I do and put your kids in the tank to move stuff around
