no, never saw they sell tapah. but they got 1 tapah about 1m ++ in their display aquarium. they mix it with other catfish like rtc, tsn.

haha. i dont have any picture of tapah. u got ur own tapah in aquarium right. post their pic plz. :D

Aren't those pics of the Wallago Maculatus? Very different coloration than the leerii, unless I am very badly mistaken.

heres a pic of my leerii.
picked it up a few years ago as a baby (about 6" maybe?) while i was in college in upstate NY. Payed 10 bucks, hehe. The guy ordered 8 and asked for $85 each but they killed each other off; there were 2 left and nobody wanted either of them.
Good news for me!

ALso have a bunch of other pics if anyone is interested (im not a great photographer though, i warn you)

Miguel & Killerfish ..... Thanks, yeah they are definitely a beast here in Malaysia..hehee :D

Channarox ..... Hmmm to answer ur question, I really have no idea if there is wallago attu here in Malaysia...because I never heard or seen any caught.I'm pretty sure Wallago Leeri is common here.Wallago attu is different on the mouth structure compared to leeri.... so I never seen an attu here.;)

Yeah, the other catfish pics is a type of sheatfish...but i dont know its scientific name...here we call it BEGAHAK.

Phendox .... Owh really?Hehee i never knew that XianLeng have a wallago on display....must go and see :naughty:

Yeah, I got one wallago...but i dont keep it in a tank (its in a pond).I need to catch it first & then can take the pics.Maybe tommorrow i'll try to share it here ok.

Aggressor09 ... Hmm I'm confused sometimes between leeri and maculatus....their physical are almost the same...only different is the range of body color (pattern).I'm refering to this website PlanetCatfish ... the color they have on leeri are almost the same as the pics I have.

So what do u think Aggressor09?Could it be a hybrid between leeri & maculatus?Anyway nice wallago u've got there
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, its my favorite little devil.
I'm going to guess that the pics above are maculatus just due to the coloration and patterns, though I think the possibility of a hybrid is good, because as you aptly mentioned, there is very little that seperates the two species.
Here is a pic of a (perhaps wild?) leerii from planetcatfish.

Do you keep one of the more colorful ones in your pond or a darker one? How is feeding and such? I always love talking to other keepers of Wallago species.

I had a Wallago attu one time but I am finished with them till i get a few thousand gallon tank.
I would LOVE to get my hands on a maculatus....
